Man arrested for stabbing at Reno mobile home park was a prison walkaway

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A man arrested for allegedly stabbing a mobile home security guard has been identified as a missing prison inmate.

James Park, 51, is facing several charges including Battery With a Deadly Weapon and Trespassing.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, the security guard confronted a man now identified as James Park, 51. During the confrontation, the security guard was stabbed in the neck, but was still able to arrest Park.

The Nevada Department of Corrections has been looking for Park since he allegedly walked away from the Stewart Conservation Camp outside Carson City on August 8, 2019.

Park had been serving a 12 to 36 month sentence for Attempted Burglary and Uttering a Forged Instrument.

According to the Washoe County Jail website, Park is now charged with Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of an illegal Substance, Trespass - Not amountng to Burglary, and Escape by a Felony Prisoner.
