YERINGTON, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says it is looking for anyone who saw a suspect flee from Yerington to Silver Springs January 1, 2019 between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect was driving a 2019 silver four-door Nissan sedan with California license plates. Witnesses helped authorities apprehend the suspect, but not before the suspect drove at high speeds, forced other vehicles off the road and refused to pull over for flashing lights and sirens. The suspect’s name has not been released.

The sheriff’s office says in a statement it found a victim in the incident on the side of U.S. 95 Alternate near Luzier Lane in Yerington.

The sheriff’s office declines to say if the victim was alive or dead; nor will it describe the severity of any possible injuries or the nature of the alleged crime. But they ask anyone who saw this event to call the sheriff’s office at 775-463-6600.
