Local communities offer sandbags to deal with flooding

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Washoe County and other Northern Nevada counties are preparing for the possibility of flooding this week by making sandbags available.

Residents should be prepared to fill sandbags with their own shovels and gloves. For a video on how to sandbag, click here.

You're advised to stay tuned through the Reno National Weather Service. If flooding issues arise, updates will be provided on the Washoe County Twitter page.

Lemmon Drive and Pompe Way intersection, Lemmon Valley

Douglas County sandbag stations:

Douglas County has sandbags available at nine locations and urges residents to assemble them on their property if there is a chance of flooding. Sandbag locations can are self-fill and the current locations are:
