FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO) - Lyon County deputies have arrested a man, ending a standoff that lasted for hours Thursday morning, September 5, 2019.

A Lyon County Lieutenant tells KOLO 8 News Now, it started when the man pulled a gun on another person inside the home on Trubode Lane. That other person was able to escape, so the gunman was alone during the standoff.

Just before 10am, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office Crisis Negotiation Team convinced the man to surrender peacefully.

Silverland Middle School in Fernley was on lockdown during the standoff, but that was lifted after the man was taken into custody.
