The Lyon County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who failed to pull over for a traffic stop and led deputies on a chase in Yerington.

It happened Sunday, November 17, 2019 just before 6:30PM. Deputies say they noticed a suspicious vehicle near a Maverik Gas Station. When they ran the license plates, they discovered the plates did not belong to the vehicle they were on, and attempted to pull the vehicle over.

Deputies say the driver did not stop, and led them on a chase. They identified him as 34-year-old Kevin Mcvay of San Bernardino, California. They say he crashed into a fence near an apartment complex on Surprise Street, then took off running.

Authorities and K9's set up a perimeter and tracked Mcvay for a mile, but never found him. They believe he got a ride out of the area.

He was last seen wearing gray-colored pants and a gray-colored button up shirt.

He's facing charges of Felony Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer and Display of Fictitious License Plates.

If you have any information you are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (775) 463-6600 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
