RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Reno’s first Chick-fil-A is getting set to make its grand opening on Thursday, and people are already lining up.

"I’ve been waiting for this for a while,” said Spencer Nolet, one of 50 people to be in line as of 7 a.m. on Wednesday. “I remember when they first got the permit for this property over a year ago, so I’m very excited."

The first 100 people in line were promised free food for a year from the popular fast food chain. They will get 52 meals, one for each week. As of 7 a.m. on Wednesday, there were over 50 people in line.

“I just wasn’t sure what the turnout would be because there really aren’t any chick -fil-a around here, “said Kirsten Nolet, who arrived at 5:15 a.m. “But honestly it was worth the risk either way because the food is really that good.

The store is located on South McCarran just west of South Virginia, where Marie Callendar's restaurant used to be.
