The
and the
have partnered to give ‘Last Chance Joe’ statue a new life.
This week and for the next year, ‘Last Chance Joe’ license plates will be available to drivers at the local DMV. The plates will cost $62 and the museum will receive $20 for each plate sold.
Museum staff says the money raised from the plates will pay for museum expenses and ‘Last Chance Joe’ restoration.
‘Last Chance Joe’ was the face of the Nugget for more than 50 years. In 2014, the 36-foot-tall miner was moved to the Sparks Museum.
