SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) - UPDATE: The signals at Sparks and Baring Boulevard are back up after crews worked to fix a damaged control panel.
ORIGINAL STORY: The traffic signal at Sparks and Baring Boulevards will be dark and inoperable much of Wednesday as Sparks city crews work to replace a damaged control panel. The city says there will be no flashing signals during the work, so the intersection must be treated as a four-way stop, and asks that drivers be patient and exercise caution when driving through this area.
A power outage in the area Christmas night was caused by a downed power line, according to NV Energy spokesperson Kristen Saibini, and that led to the damaged panel.
Northbound traffic on Sparks Boulevard near Baring Blvd and Shadow Lane was closed much of Christmas night because of the outage.
