GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (KOLO) Expect to see overnight lane closures on U.S. 395 through downtown Gardnerville starting Monday, January 27, 2020.

It is part of the Nevada Department of Transportation's preliminary work for a future project to repave the highway.

Brief overnight single lane closures will take place weekdays from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on U.S. 395 between Waterloo Lane and First Street through about February 7, 2020. Only small sections of individual lanes will be closed at a time. NDOT says business and residential access will remain available.

NDOT says crews will be surveying specific utility, storm drain and sewer utility locations. Future single lane closures may be needed to further identify specific depths of certain utilities.

The resurfacing project of U.S. 395 between Waterloo Lane and First Street is expected to begin in 2022, depending on funding. The project will excavate and repave approximately two inches of highway surface.

Pedestrian ramps, sidewalk and driveway improvements will also be added on the corridor. NDOT will also make needed upgrades to highway drainage.
