RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The latest new company to set up shop in Reno has been announced.
S&S Activewear will soon call Reno home, with an 800-thousand-square-foot building under construction on North Virginia street near Lemmon Valley.
The company doesn't sell sportswear directly to consumers, but distributes the products companies make to other companies to sell. S&S Activewear distributes products for Oakley, Adidas, Hanes, and more companies.
Mayor Hillary Schieve says she's very pleased the company chose Reno.
"We know by statistics that one of the things companies want to see is being able to work with governments and working with them in their business. I want to be a great business partner when it comes to attracting businesses here and providing jobs in the area."
There will be plenty of sportswear in the building, but you won't be able to buy it there.
“We do not sell to consumers," said S&S President Jim Shannon. " We sell business to business. We are buying the goods so they can buy and redistribute them out.”
The new facility is expected to bring about 350 new jobs. The company plans to start the hiring process in November; for more information on job opportunities click here.
The distributing center is set to be completed at the end of 2018.
The company is expected to move in in March 2019.
