Honda hits 3 stopped NHP vehicles on US 395
Three Nevada Highway Patrol vehicles were hit Saturday morning when they were stopped to clean up a crash on northbound U.S. 395 at the Panther Valley interchange, the NHP said.
The troopers had closed one lane and had their rear-facing lights flashing when a Honda failed to move over and hit the vehicles, the NHP said. The Honda, now stopped, was hit by a passing Toyota, bringing the number of vehicles involved in the accident to five, the NHP said.
Northbound traffic was diverted for a couple of hours until the scene was cleared.
“The importance of slowing down and moving over is frequently ignored by motorists and puts the safety of your first responders and fellow citizens at stake,” the NHP said. “Nevada, it’s not a courtesy – it’s the law.”
