Man found dead in Fernley identified

FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man found dead Wednesday afternoon in a field between Interstate 80 and Main Street in Fernley.

The call came in about 2:20 p.m. March 20, 2019 of a man found in a field behind the Jackson’s Food Store at 210 U.S. 40, Sgt. Jeffrey Miller says. The man had no property on him and no identification, Miller says, and a public call went out asking for information.

Though the man has been identified, the name has not been released pending family notification.

There is no information on how long he had been there and the cause and manner of death are under investigation, Miller says.
