Groundbreaking underway for Fallen Firefighters Memorial

CARSON CITY, NV (KOLO) - The Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada broke ground on the Nevada Fallen Firefighters Memorial Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Carson City.

The Nevada Fallen Firefighters Memorial, on the grounds of the
Capital Complex, is designed to stand as a tribute to the men and women who gave their lives to protect their fellow Nevadans.

Speakers at the event included Governor Steve Sisolak, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, Assemblyman Jason Frierson, Senator Nicole Cannizzaro and Angelo Aragon, President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada.

The Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada was founded April 4, 1960, and includes 2,600 active members and 100 retired members through 20 Locals that include Clark County, Boulder City, Carson City, Central Lyon County, East Fork, Elko, Elko County, Henderson, Incline Village, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Mt. Charleston, North Lyon County, Pahrump, Reno, Reno Airport, Sparks, Storey County, Tahoe Douglas, and Truckee Meadows.
