Eclipse glasses gone at Washoe libraries

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - UPDATE: Glasses are no longer available at Washoe County libraries; supplies are gone.

Washoe County libraries are giving away solar eclipse glasses.

Monday, August 21, you will be able to see a partial eclipse in Northern Nevada when the moon passes in front of the sun.

You can damage your eyes if you look directly at the sun without protection, but the solar eclipse glasses will allow you to look directly at the eclipse.

The glasses will be available at all of the Washoe Co. Library System branches, one per person, while supplies last.

The libraries will also be offering special STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) activities to motivate children to learn.
