RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day of Service.
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada is hosting an expanded all-ages volunteer session on January 20, 2020 from 1 –3 p.m. at the Reno Sparks Convention Center (RSCC) at 4590 S. Virginia Street in Reno.
This will be the first time the event is being held at RSCC and is already sold out. The organization decided to move the event into Reno to allow more families the ability to attend and to offer an opportunity for more companies to get involved.
The event will feature a variety of volunteer tasks and each attendee will receive an event T-shirt. There will also be a raffle with great prizes and raffle tickets will be on sale during the event.
Over the past nine years, the event at the Food Bank’s USA Parkway location accommodated around 200 people. The sold out RSCC event is expecting to host around 900 volunteers.
