Flood Warning for the Truckee River

TRUCKEE, Calif. (KOLO) -- A Flood Warning has been issued 10:30 p.m. Friday for the Truckee River through the town of Truckee and along Highway 89.

A crest of 6' historically has meant minor flooding. The forecast is 5.9' Saturday afternoon.

Flooding is not currently expected on the rest of the Truckee, Carson, or Walker Rivers.

Creeks, streams, and low-lying areas need to be monitored, along with wildfire burn scar areas.

The Truckee River at Reno is currently forecast to crest at 9.1 feet, which is just above monitor stage. Flood stage is 11'. Currently the Susan River is not expected to reach monitor stage in Susanville.
