Fire north of Susanville 100% contained

has burned 18,703 acres or more than 29 square miles, and it is fully contained as of August 7, 2018.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office says the evacuation order for Spalding has been lifted. Residents are allowed to return to their homes. The Forest Service recreation facilities along the south shore of Eagle Lake are still closed.

The fire burned in the Lassen National Forest 30 miles north of Susanville.

The fire started July 27, 2018. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
