FERNLEY, Nev. (KOLO)-- The American Red Cross was called in to assist a Fernley family Saturday after a fire damaged their home.

The fire at the F Street home was reported early Saturday and the home was fully involved with fire when the first crew arrived.

All family members got out unharmed, the North Lyon County Fire Protection District reported. Fire crews also saved one dog and one cat. One cat died in the fire. The district initially reported two cats died, but changed that and said firefighters revived one cat.

The Central Lyon County Fire Protection District, Storey County Fire Department and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District also responded.
