SUN VALLEY, Nev., (KOLO)-- The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District responded to a fire on Sidehill Drive in Sun Valley at about 11:21 a.m.

This is a home on Sidehill Drive in Sun Valley that was on fire on Dec. 17, 2016. Chris Buckley/KOLO.

Crews say no one was home at the time of the fire and the doors were locked. They believe the home may be unoccupied.

Four crews responded to the fire, keeping it confined to just a couple rooms and the attic. Firefighters did have to remove insulation from the attic. Crews were in mop up stage within an hour of responding to the fire.

No one was hurt in the fire and the flames did not spread to any other properties. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters say there is an increase in house fires when temperatures drop. They want to remind people to clear out their chimneys, use wood stoves and space heaters safely, and keep Christmas trees watered.
