A fire that started Tuesday afternoon just east of Sparks at Interstate 80 and Vista Boulevard was 100 percent contained at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the Sparks Fire Department said.

The fire is called the I-80 Fire, a change from the original "S Fire" name. It is estimated at 514 acres.

No structures are threatened. It was reported about 4PM August 22, 2017.

Businesses on nearby Salomon Circle were evacuated, but those evacs have been lifted.

The fire was presumably started by lightning.
