Fernley woman indicted for involvement in massive drug ring

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A Fernley woman is one of 85 people indicted in a massive drug ring tied to the Sinaloa Cartel, an international drug trafficking organization.

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force along with the assistance of Lyon County Sheriff's Deputies found Rhiannon Hiller working at a warehouse in the USA Parkway area. She was taken into custody on a federal warrant from the United States District Court, Southern District of California.

Authorities say Hiller has an extensive criminal history including, robbery, carjacking, felon in possession and possession of controlled substances.

She will face her federal charge in San Diego.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Hiller and the other 84 people were arrested after a nine-month DEA investigation in San Diego County.

According to court documents, DEA officials seized about 175 pounds of meth, heroin, and fentanyl. Agents also discovered $50,000 in cash, multiple firearms, and a 2020 Cadillac Escalade, which is valued at $115,000.

District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Gary Schofield stated, “This prompt and successful investigation is another example of how the combined resources of the participating task force agencies can be in making Fernley, NV a safer place, by quickly removing felons from our community.”
