Arrest in slaying of Elko County teen

ELKO COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) - MARCH 20 UPDATE: Bryce Dickey, 18, was arrested Thursday for murder in the death of Gabrielle (Britney) Lynn Ujlaky, the Elko County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

The investigation into Ujlaky’s death continues but the tip line has been closed, the sheriff’s office said. Her body was found in the Burner Basin part of Elko County.

Dickey, of Spring Creek, is charged with open murder, meaning if he is convicted, it could be manslaughter or first or second degree murder in the case.

UPDATE: The Elko County Sheriff's Office said a body found in the Burner Basin area has been identified as a teen missing out of Spring Creek.

Sixteen-year-old Gabrielle (Britney) Lynn Ujlaky was reported missing Monday, March 9, 2020.

The Elko County Sheriff's Office said her death is being investigated as a homicide. Authorities said a suspect has not been identified, and that there is no information to indicate danger to the public.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Elko County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for information after finding a female's body in the Burner Basin area.

The body was found Wednesday, March 11, 2020 around 2 p.m.

The body was taken to the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office. The Elko County Sheriff's Office said a positive identification has been determined, but did not release additional information.
