Name released of man killed in crash in Fernley

FERNLEY, NV (KOLO)-- The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a man killed in a crash on US 50 Alternate.

Troopers were called to the crash Friday, April 19, 2019, at 4:09PM at the intersection with Desert Rose in Fernley.

NHP's preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Cadillac SUV was traveling north on Desert Rose, approaching the intersection with US-50A, preparing to make a left turn. The driver of a Dodge sedan was headed east on US-50A in the right lane, approaching the intersection. The driver of the Cadillac proceeded onto 50A to make the left turn, hitting the front of the Dodge.

The driver of the Dodge, 67-year-old Hector Luis Reyes of Fallon, died of his injuries after being taken to a hospital.
