Name released of trucker killed in Highway 6 crash

TONOPAH, NV (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a trucker killed in a crash early Wednesday west of Tonopah.

The crash was reported shortly after midnight the morning of July 3, 2019. NHP's preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Volvo tractor-trailer was headed east on US-6, approaching Mineral County mile marker 4. For reasons still undetermined, the truck left the road, re-entered the road and overturned. It came to rest across all travel lanes. The driver was not seriously hurt.

About three minutes later, the driver of a Peterbilt tractor-trailer, also headed east on US-6, hit the Volvo, splitting the Volvo into two. The driver of the Peterbilt, 53-year-old Dario Baez of Madera, California, was killed.
