The Sparks Police Department has identified the suspects in an armed robbery that led to a fatal crash.

Ryan Williams, 34, is being charged with open murder, robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, and possessing a gun by a prohibited person. His mugshot is not currently available.

Adrianna Norman, 30, is charged with open murder and robbery with the use of deadly weapon.

The second male in the case is not being charged due to information gathered from the investigation.

A driver died Saturday morning after he was hit head-on by two robbery suspects driving the wrong way on Interstate 80.

The Washoe County Medical Examiner identified him as Jacob Edwards, 30, of Sparks.

The Sparks Police Department said officers responded to a robbery call just before 6:30 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1515 Oddie Boulevard near the intersection with Rock Boulevard. Police said the victim told them a male and female, each armed with handguns, threatened him, and that his wallet was stolen. A second male suspect was outside. Police said the male suspects drove off in a white pickup truck. The female was found at the scene.

Police say the male suspects led officers on a short chase. Officers then attempted to end the pursuit using a maneuver, but were unsuccessful.

The suspects sped off eastbound on Victorian Avenue and then went the wrong way up a freeway off-ramp at McCarran Boulevard and continued driving the wrong way on the interstate. The suspects then hit a Jeep Patriot head-on, killing Edwards who was behind the wheel.

The suspects were taken into custody and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
