MINDEN, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a pedestrian hit and killed in traffic Saturday morning.

Shortly before 6:30AM December 15, 2018, troopers responded to the crash on US 395 northbound near the Cradlebaugh Bridge, north of Stephanie Way in Douglas County.

The preliminary investigation indicates 49-year-old Erica McGann of Carson City was the passenger of a Dodge Ram pickup, and tried to jump out of the pickup while it was moving, so the driver stopped on the shoulder. McGann got out and ran across both northbound lanes. She then walked southbound in a northbound lane and was hit and killed by a Chevrolet Suburban SUV being driven northbound. The driver of the Suburban stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses. If you saw it happen, or have any information about it, you're asked to contact Trooper Chris Amadis of the Nevada Highway Patrol at 775-684-7381 or camadis@dps.state.nv.us.
