Stolen wheelchair returned to Reno family

A family seeks the return of this custom wheelchair stolen from a driveway in northwest Reno.

RENO, NV (KOLO)-- Saturday Update:The family reports the wheelchair was returned about 3 a.m. Saturday.

Original story:A family is looking for a customized wheelchair stolen Friday from a home in the area of the Washoe County Library on Robb Drive in northwest Reno.

The wheelchair was stolen out of the family’s driveway.

It is the only form of transportation for a 26-year-old with cerebral palsy, unless his mother carries him.

It is a Zippie brand wheelchair with custom seating from Roho and has a hard shell customized for his spine.

The family filed a report with the Reno Police Department. Anyone with information on its location or who took it is asked to call police at 775-334- 2677.
