CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - A driver was cited for failure to use due care after a Saturday afternoon crash on North Carson Street that broke a power pole, damaged a fire hydrant and took about 30 feet of chain link fence, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office said.

The accident happened about 1:30 p.m. September 23, 2017 and the sheriff’s office believes excessive speed caused the crash as the driver went off the right side of the road, Deputy Chris Rivera said. The driver was going north at the time. The 30 feet of chain link fence was in front of Meek’s Lumber at 2869 N. Carson St.

The driver said she was not injured, Rivera said.
