LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) Elko's Dakota Eldridge heads into Saturday's NFR Championship Finals sitting in first place overall in the steer wrestling.
He took down his steer in 3.5 seconds during the ninth round on Friday, which was just .20 seconds off the best time of the night. It was the second-fastest time of the round, earning him $20,730.77.
It also moved him from third place into the top spot in the average. His 40.2 second total on nine head, has him in first place by nearly a half second (.50).
Eldridge is looking to win his second career gold buckle. He also won the national title back in 2015.
