Missing Pleasant Valley man found dead near Topaz Lake

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) April 2 update: A missing Pleasant Valley man was found dead at a Topaz Lake campground about 2:30 p.m. on March 30, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

The sheriff's office suspects no foul play in the death of Bryde Bates, 57, and is not looking for anyone.

The Washoe County Medical Examiner on Thursday said the cause of death was still trying to be determined.

57 year old Bryde Bates was last seen early Thursday leaving his home near the intersection of Carriage Drive and East Laramie Drive in Pleasant Valley.

Deputies believe he was heading to his work, which is located near the intersection of S. Rock Blvd. And Mill Street.

Bates is believed to be driving a silver 2017 Ford F-350 with matching fiberglass camper shell. Nevada License Plate number: 883ZEB.
