SUN VALLEY, NV (KOLO)-- The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sun Valley man Sunday for allegedly illegally dumping a truck off Llewellyn Road. It was the second arrest for illegal dumping in Sun Valley in a week.

Zechariah Baker, 24, was booked into the Washoe County jail on a count of illegal disposal of garbage.

Someone called dispatch Sunday, July 21, 2019 about 7:30 a.m. to report someone had illegally left a vehicle in the hills east of Sun Valley.

As deputies followed the trail apparently used to move the vehicle there, other witnesses came forward to describe the suspect and tell deputies where he may be, the sheriff’s office said. The information led deputies to Baker.

On July 16, deputies arrested Daniel Munoz-Negrete, 34, of Sparks on suspicion of dumping an abandoned vehicle north of Sun Valley. A juvenile with him was taken to Jan Evans Juvenile Justice Center.

The sheriff’s office said it will prosecute those who abandoned vehicles illegally. Anyone who sees illegal dumping in progress is asked to call dispatch at 775-785-WCSO.
