Name released of man killed in crash on 80 east of Sparks

DERBY DAM, Nev. (KOLO) -- The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the name of a man killed in a rollover on I-80 near Derby Dam, east of Sparks.

The crash happened about 7PM February 12, 2019.

NHP's preliminary investigation indicates 29-year-old Joshua Jones of Winnemucca was driving a Ford F-150 pickup and lost control, overturning. Jones was not wearing his seat belt and was thrown from the pickup, and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking witnesses to this crash. If you saw it or have any information about it, you're asked to contact Trooper Alex Knaak of the Nevada Highway Fernley/Fallon district at 775-423-7946 or aknaak@dps.state.nv.us.

NHP says the pickup was not a model from a year subject to a new recall dealing with transmissions.
