Body found along Truckee River in east Reno

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - 3 p.m. update:
The body found along the Truckee River is male, Washoe County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Harmon said.

A swimmer in the Truckee River found the body about 1:10 p.m., Harmon said.

The Truckee River remains open.

Authorities are trying to retrieve a dead body from the Truckee River between McCarran Boulevard and the Reno-Sparks Water Treatment Plant.

Crews are having difficulty getting to the body, which is west of the Sparks Boulevard extension over the Truckee River.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed there is a body but had no other details available.

Authorities are setting up to investigate the cause of death.
