Twenty people were arrested this weekend as part of drunk driving crackdown in Reno, the Reno Police Department said Sunday.
The coordinated Joining Forces crackdown had 12 arrests Friday night and eight arrests Saturday night. The operation ran from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. both nights.
“We would like to remind you that there are several options to find a safe/sober ride home including traditional bus and taxi service, sober friends, and ride share services,” the Reno Police Department said in a statement. “There is no excuse for driving while intoxicated.”
The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety provided the grant. Also participating were the Nevada Highway Patrol, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the University of Nevada Police.
