RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Row is getting ready for winter.
Work is now underway on what will be the site of the new downtown ice rink in what had been part of the parking lot north of Circus Circus at Sierra and 6th Streets.
Construction crews tell KOLO 8 News Now, there is a great deal of work to be done to prepare for the rink, including adding electrical lines for the ice system.
The city of Reno originally had the rink at City Plaza, but had to move it due to construction of the Virginia Street Bridge.
The Reno Aces then hosted the rink, but have said they can no longer host the rink.
The Row expects to open the rink around November 18th. They are still finalizing the prices and hours, and should be making a formal announcement later this week.
