CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) -- Carson City is looking to make major improvements at Ross Gold Park on Appion Way. The City says it is one of the oldest parks within its park system. As part of the efforts to reinvest in aging park infrastructure, the City would like the community's input in updating the Master Plan for the park. The Master Plan will guide future development and prioritize spending. It will also be used as a means to seek grants and donations for the implementation of the park's improvements.

Community members who would like to give their input are encouraged to fill out a short survey. It will be accepted through Wednesday, April 24 at 5:00 p.m.

You can find the survey here.

Once the survey results are in, there will be a public meeting scheduled to review the results and discuss the park in more detail.

In March, crews began to demolish the playground equipment at Ross Gold Park. The City said the structure needed to go because it's more than two decades old and does not meet current safety standards.
