WEST WENDOVER, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol reported Friday that on Wednesday it arrested a suspect in West Wendover in an attempted murder charge from Colorado.
Christopher Wayne Tiffany, 40, remained in the Elko County jail on Friday night.
The NHP said the Delta County Sheriff’s Office told them about noon on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 that Tiffany was in the West Wendover area driving a white Ford F-150 with a teal stripe.
About 5 p.m., a trooper saw the vehicle parked at a West Wendover grocery store and then saw Tiffany leave the store. With the help of the West Wendover Police Department, Tiffany was taken into custody about 15 minutes later.
The NHP said Tiffany told troopers he painted over the teal stripe on the truck to attempt to conceal the vehicle.
The Delta County Sheriff’s Office said Tiffany is a suspect in the shooting of a 20-year-old man on Oak Creek Road in Delta County on Tuesday at about 2:45 a.m. The man was taken to a hospital after being shot in the neck and was in critical condition.
Delta County is in west Colorado between Grand Junction and Montrose.
