City of Reno hosts 9th annual Military Sports Camp
There are four days full of a variety of sports which includes archery, rock climbing and more.
Attendees are spent today jet skiing in Carson City.
For some this is an annual event and others are new comers like Jarred Evans.
"I was injured surfing 15 years ago. I'm a C6 quadriplegic, I'm trying to stay active and have fun," said Evans. "It was my first time water skiing and I had fun."
This event is not just about sports, it's about creating friendships and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
"I always liked boating before i got injured so its a good way to get back in the water and have fun," added Evans. "Hanging out with great people in a great environment and just having a great time."
All skill sets are welcome and allows disabled service members and a guest to enjoy each other's company.
Evans also has a word of advice for those who have been inured and are tackling similar obstacles.
"Just get out and find something to keep you sane, have a great time, find that thing that makes you happy and pursue it," said Evans.
Tomorrow, participants will rock climb and mountain bike at 2 p.m. For more information, you can contact April Wolfe at 775-333-7765.
