Woman arrested for DUI after boy hit in crosswalk

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) - A woman has been arrested for DUI after a teenage boy was hit while in a crosswalk in Sparks.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the intersection of Greenbrae Drive and O'Callaghan Drive. Police say 50-year-old Rachel Johnson was driving southbound on Greenbrae when she hit the boy. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, according to police, and is recovering.

Johnson is charged with DUI and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

O'Callaghan was briefly closed during the investigation.
