CHILCOOT, CA (KOLO) - If you bought a Powerball ticket at Hallelujah Junction for Wednesday night's drawing, you need to check your numbers.
The California Lottery says a ticket purchased at the store in Chilcoot matched five numbers, making it worth $2,399,925. California does not collect state income tax on lottery winnings, but the ticket holder will have to pay federal income taxes.
The ticket holder has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize at a California Lottery District Office.
Had the ticket also matched the red Powerball number, it would have won the jackpot.
With no grand prize winners, the Powerball will now be worth an estimated $308,000,000 for the Saturday, May 25th drawing.
For selling the winning ticket, the Hallelujah Junction Market will collect a retailer bonus of $11,999.
