CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO)-- The Carson City Sheriff’s Office said Thursday they have arrested four people in a case that started as a battery and robbery and grew to include kidnapping. The investigation continues.
Michael Lawrence Segna, 21, was arrested on a warrant for an unrelated battery with a deadly weapon case in Douglas County as well as the Carson City case. The sheriff’s office also arrested Mauricio Gomez, 26, Christopher Robert Powell, 37, and Richard Rios, 32.
The sheriff’s office responded Nov. 25 about 2 a.m. to the water tower area of Goni Road in north Carson City on a report of a battery with a deadly weapon. Deputies found the person who had been attacked had also been robbed. Segna and Gomez were identified as suspects, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office and the FBI Northern Nevada Safe Street Task Force found Segna on Nov. 27 near the water tower in Voltaire Canyon on the west side of Carson City and arrested him. A woman with Segna during his arrest was there against her will and had been battered, the sheriff’s office said.
On Nov. 28 authorities searched a tattoo business in the 1800 block of East William Street and found Gomez there, the sheriff’s office said. Powell, the business owner, was arrested after they searched the business, the sheriff’s office said.
On Nov. 29 authorities searched the 600 block of Hot Springs Road and arrested Rios.
