CARSON CITY, NV (KOLO) - Carson City Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a man as part of an investigation into three accused incidents involving confrontations between females and possible solicitations.

June 9, 2019, a woman told detectives the driver of a white Dodge van followed her to the Jacksons gas station at 1615 E. 5th. She says the man tried to talk her into sex with him and caused a scene inside the business, trying to get her to leave with him. Detectives identified the owner of the van, currently in custody at the Carson City jail on unrelated charges. He cooperated with detectives, saying a friend of his, 57-year-old Adam Autry, was driving the van June 9. Detectives started searching for Autry and the van, and both were found at a gas station the afternoon of the 11th.

Autry is charged with Attempted Kidnapping, Aggravated Stalking and Threats. The van has been impounded.

Detectives say another incident took place in the area of the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City June 8. A teenage girl says the driver of a black four-door sedan pulled up next to her while she was jogging, and took a picture of her. Security video from the neighborhood shows a black BMW four-door sedan (photo attached to this story) being driven near the girl at the time she was jogging in the area. The same girl says a black four-door sedan was seen being driven by her home two days later in the central west side of Carson City. The car and driver are being sought.

The third incident was June 10 about 4:30 p.m. A different woman told detectives she was walking in the area of Carmine Road and Airport Road when a gray or brown van was pulled in front of her. She said two "younger" men got out of the van and tried to get her to leave with them in the van. She says she has no further description, and detectives are still working to verify the sequence of events.

Detectives say the three incidents don't appear to be connected.

Anyone with information on the black BMW sedan is asked to contact Detective Morgan Tucker 775-283-7858, Captain Brian Humphrey 775-283-7851, or our Communications Center at 775-887-2008.
