CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying a suspicious person found inside Carson City High School, and has released photos of him and the car he was driving.

About 3:30PM August 1, 2018, school staffers were watching surveillance cameras showing areas inside the school. They noticed a male they don't know walking around in the school. Since school was not in session, no one should have been there.

Investigators say when staffers asked him what he was doing there, he said he was “reminiscing,” but refused to identify himself and instead said he could go anywhere he wanted because he was a “taxpayer.” He then left and drove off.

The Sheriff’s Office is looking to identify him, saying investigators don't know of any threat against staff or students at the school, and that the attempt to identify him is for safety only.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Detective Morgan Tucker at (775) 283-7858 or Captain Brian Humphrey at (775) 283-7850. You can also contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at (775) 887-2677. You can remain anonymous.
