UPDATE:

The Washoe County Medical Examiner has identified the man killed Friday, December 13, 2019, on the Carson Colony of the Washoe Tribe as Kyle Bryan, 23, of Carson City.

The Coroner's Office says their investigation is still continuing.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Carson Colony of the Washoe Tribe is investigating a possible homicide.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong tells KOLO 8 News Now, his deputies responded to an address on Boyle Street just after 3 AM. Sheriff Furlong says the man had been shot.

When the deputies determined that the man was dead, and that it was on Tribal land, the case was left to Tribal Police.

The FBI has confirmed their agents are on scene investigating the death. Typically, the FBI investigates major felonies on Native American lands.

The Washoe Tribe released this statement Friday evening:

On December 13, 2019 at approximately 0304 hours the Washoe Tribe Police and the Carson City Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Boyle St., Carson City, NV, within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Washoe Tribe for a reported Domestic Battery.

Upon arrival it was discovered that an adult victim within a residence had suffered apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The adult victim was declared deceased at the scene.

The Washoe Tribe Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are currently investigating the incident and have made an arrest of an adult individual.

Further details of the incident are being withheld at this time to ensure due process for the arrestee.
