CARSON CITY, NV (KOLO)- A fire that caused $50,000 in damage to four cars Wednesday morning in Carson City was arson, Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon said.

"There have been numerous fires in the last couple of weeks in the Carson City area, so we are looking at all of those to determine whether or not there are any links to any of those fires at this point," Slamon said at a news conference.

The fires have mostly been in the early morning or late evening and have also been in dumpsters, a building under construction and an open field, Slamon said.

The fires July 10, 2019 were at 3:54 a.m. The call came in as an explosion, but Slamon said that was likely a tire exploding on a burning vehicle.

No one was hurt.

There are no suspects at this time. Sheriff Ken Furlong said any detail could help in the case.

If you know anything about the case, you are asked to call the Carson City Sheriff's Office at 775-887-2677.
