CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO)- The Carson City Sheriff's Office continues to search for an inmate who ran from the Carson City Jail, but three other people are in custody.
Detectives say early the morning of June 12, 2018, Michael Bass, a work crew inmate, escaped from custody. During the investigation, Rumor Schilling was identified as a person of interest. The night of the 12th, Schilling and two men, twin brothers, were tracked to a hotel room in the 1300 block of North Carson Street, and arrested. One other person was found but released, pending charges.
Investigators searched two additional locations in the 1600 block of North Carson Street and found several people detectives say are cooperating with them and providing information.
Detectives say, "This investigation is a high priority and remains active with numerous locations under surveillance. Additional charges on those already arrested are being considered with several other individuals, including family members, possibly facing criminal charges as this case develops. Anyone providing assistance to Michael Bass or concealing his whereabouts will be arrested on appropriate charges."
23-year-old Rumor Schilling is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and False Statements/Obstructing.
28-year-old Jonathan Crandell and his twin brother Gene are charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Bass had been working with the Culinary Kitchen at the jail in Carson City when he escaped. He was stacking pallets in the loading dock when he ran over a fence. The prison was secured as patrol units with tracking K9s searched for Bass.
