PG&E preparing for power outages due to wildfire risk

Nearly 5,000 people are without power from South Point, Ohio to Ashland, Kentucky

MARYSVILLE, Calif. (KOLO) - Power outages could be coming to several nearby counties this week over wildfire concerns.

PG&E is preparing to cut power late Wednesday, October 23, 2019 due to strong winds. The outage could last until Thursday afternoon.

The affected counties include Butte, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sierra, Sutter, and Yuba Counties.

Caltrans is also reminding drivers that non-working and flashing red traffic signals should be treated as all-way stops during power outages.
