California 70 north of Quincy reopens after fuel spill

QUINCY, Calif. (KOLO)-- Part of California 70 north of Quincy was closed for much of Friday after an estimated 3,000 gallons of fuel leaked after a tanker overturned, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The accident happened about 8:21 a.m. September 14, 2018, and authorities were concerned fuel would leak into Spanish Creek about 8 miles north of Quincy. The tanker blocked both lanes of traffic.

The lanes were blocked until Friday night.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
