CA Sen. Harris joins Rosen in Reno, Sparks

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris is coming to northern Nevada to campaign with U.S. Senate candidate Jacky Rosen and other top Democrats at a pair of get-out-the-vote rallies in Reno and Sparks.

Harris plans to join Rosen, lieutenant governor candidate Kate Marshall and others at a rally at the state Democratic field office in Sparks at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

She's scheduled to appear at an event targeting women in Reno at 7:15 p.m. Thursday with Rosen, Democratic state controller candidate Catherine Byrne and Patricia Gallimore, president of the Reno/Sparks NAACP.

Rosen is trying to knock off GOP Sen. Dean Heller.

Harris is among a large group of Democrats who are contemplating a 2020 challenge to President Donald Trump. She's received increased attention in recent weeks for her visible role on the Senate Judiciary Committee in opposition to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
