RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Dairy Queen restaurants throughout northern Nevada will take part in Miracle Treat Day Thursday, August 2. Throughout the day, $1 or more from each Blizzard treat sold at participating DQ stores will be donated to support northern Nevada’s Children's Miracle Network Hospital, Renown Children’s Hospital.
Nationally, Dairy Queen and CMNH have partnered for more than 30 years raising money to help children across North America. In that time, Dairy Queen has raised more than $130 million nationally. Locally, DQ restaurants have raised more than $263,000 for Renown Children’s Hospital since 1988. More than $19,000 was raised by local Dairy Queens during last year’s Miracle Treat Day.
All money raised from Blizzard purchases August 2 will stay in the northern Nevada community to help fund state-of-the-art equipment and provide support for services and education programs at Renown Children's Hospital. This year’s fundraiser will help Renown Children’s Hospital purchase two AccuVein devices, which allow care providers to locate veins more easily and decrease the stress and discomfort of IVs for young patients.
